The server did not respond. Trying again (attempt 1 of 5)

I got the following error message when i ran the command to configure Office Web Apps on SharePoint 2013 server.

Error : WARNING: The server did not respond. Trying again (attempt 1 of 5).

has failed. If you are using a server configured with HTTP, you must include
the -AllowHTTP parameter.

SSL policy errors have been encountered.  Error code ‘0x2’..

Resolution 1 : In this case, I had to do the following changes in Local Security Policy:

Local Security Policy Changes

  1. Go to ‘Local Security Policy’ and select ‘Public Key Policies’OWA2
  2. Go to properties of ‘Certificate Path Validation Settings’.OWA3
  3. ‘Check’ the following settings under Network Retrieval’ tab.OWA4
  4. Restart SharePoint server.

 

Now i got the same error with a different message:

Errors:

PartialChain: A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority.
RevocationStatusUnknown: The revocation function was unable to check revocation for the certificate.
OfflineRevocation: The revocation function was unable to check revocation because the revocation server was offline.

Resolution 2 : In this case, I had to do the following changes:

  1. Go to http://certs.godaddy.com/repository/
  2. Download “GoDaddy Class 2 Certification Authority Root Certificate – G2” file (gdroot-g2.crt)
  3. In SharePoint server, go to “Manage Computer Certificates”
  4. Go to “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” and import gdroot-g2.crt file.OWA16.JPG

 

Then I ran the command again and it worked!!!
