I got the following error message when i ran the command to configure Office Web Apps on SharePoint 2013 server.
Error : WARNING: The server did not respond. Trying again (attempt 1 of 5).

WARNING: The server did not respond. Trying again (attempt 3 of 5).
WARNING: The server did not respond. Trying again (attempt 4 of 5).
WARNING: The server did not respond. Trying again (attempt 5 of 5).
New-SPWOPIBinding : Sorry, we have encountered an error and New-SPWOPIBinding
has failed. If you are using a server configured with HTTP, you must include
the -AllowHTTP parameter.

Error log :
An operation failed because the following certificate has validation errors:
Subject Name: CN=xxxxx.xxxx.au, OU=Domain Control Validated
Issuer Name: CN=Go Daddy Secure Certificate Authority – G2, OU=http://certs.xxxxx.com/repository/, O=”xxxxx.com, Inc.”, L=Scottsdale, S=Arizona, C=US

Errors:SSL policy errors have been encountered. Error code ‘0x2’..
Event ID : 8311

Resolution 1 : In this case, I had to do the following changes in Local Security Policy:
Local Security Policy Changes
- Go to ‘Local Security Policy’ and select ‘Public Key Policies’

- Go to properties of ‘Certificate Path Validation Settings’.

- ‘Check’ the following settings under Network Retrieval’ tab.

- Restart SharePoint server.
Now i got the same error with a different message:

PartialChain: A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority.
RevocationStatusUnknown: The revocation function was unable to check revocation for the certificate.
OfflineRevocation: The revocation function was unable to check revocation because the revocation server was offline.

Resolution 2 : In this case, I had to do the following changes:
- Go to http://certs.godaddy.com/repository/
- Download “GoDaddy Class 2 Certification Authority Root Certificate – G2” file (gdroot-g2.crt)
- In SharePoint server, go to “Manage Computer Certificates”
- Go to “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” and import gdroot-g2.crt file.

Then I ran the command again and it worked!!!
